Why will only one remote program and work?

I have two garage remotes and a keypad. We just bought the home and the old owners said that the one remote needed a battery which I replaced. Here is the problem, remote 1 and the key pad both will install but remote 2 will not install. If you install remote 2 first it works but the others do not. The keypad is a 4 digit type and both remotes are 139.53681b and the opener is a 139.53674srt2

The system is designed to recognize a limited number of signals as a safety precaution so the memory may need to be erased and all remotes and the keyless entry keypad reprogrammed again. If you have already done that then the next check is for a failing remote.

Sometimes a remote will still work but the signal it sends wipes out another. The keyless works like a remote, it just requires the security code before sending the signal, so it may also be at fault. The procedure in the link below should help identify the problem.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
