Why won't the remote open my garage door?
I have a garage door opener, model 139.653000. Why won't the remote open my garage door?

Assuming that the door still opens from the wall switch, there are two common and simple issues that tend to cause this on the model you have.
First, the battery in your remote may have run down too low. To see if this is the problem just try a new battery or try swapping over a battery from another remote that still works.
And, some of these models are equipped with a "Lock" feature that needs to be turned off for the remotes to work. You should be able to turn off the lock feature by moving the lever away from the "Lock" label on the wall receiver.
