Should I go with stamped concrete or interlocking brick?

I have a landscaping question (actually hardscaping)-- I am planning to have a patio installed & don't know which is a better way to go i.e. concrete dyed & stamped versus interlocking brick -- my understanding is that concrete can be slippery when wet however if it is given a matte finish (sealant) then it should be ok. I also understand that there is some maintenance required with concrete i.e. sealant has to be replaced every few years. Do you have any advice or suggestions with regard to making this choice (flagstone is too expensive).

Firstly, we should say that there are no right or wrong answers here. There are advantages and disadvantages to either system. Concrete can develop cracks as it settles. With stamped concrete, the cracks sometimes follow the stamp lines and look less conspicuous. Sometimes not. Interlocking brick on the other hand, can settle and become uneven. It can also support weed growth or moss growth more easily than concrete. Because both systems, if installed properly, are durable and relatively maintenance free, we would be inclined to choose the one or that you find most aesthetically pleasing.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
