Why can't I program my garage door remote?
I cannot seem to program the garage door remote to work on one of the automatic garage door openers. I have followed the instructions on the back of the unit to no avail. Any suggestions? At the moment I have to use the "button" that is on the wall to open this door.

It's hard to say, of course, but there is the possibility that the remote control is simply defective. Before replacing it, though, I'd recommend replacing the battery in it, unless you've already tried that. If the remote is defective, replacements for most models of garage door operators can be purchased at most home centers. The manufacturer may also have troubleshooting tips specific to their models in their manuals or on their web site.
