Please advise me on how to adjust the tension on my overhead garage doors.
Different door manufacturers use a different methods for counterbalancing the weight of an overhead garage door. Most use springs, on either side of the door, or above the door. Even if the door is perfectly installed, and travels freely, without binding, rubbing, racking (getting out of square), or sagging, adjusting the counterbalancing springs is not really a job for the do-it-yourselfer.
The energy stored in the springs is significant, as is the weight of the garage door, with no counterbalancing springs. Adjusting the weights is dangerous. We would suggest that you call in a professional.
