My garage door will sometimes start to close then go back up again. There is nothing in the way of the "eye" and after a couple of tries it does close. This happens no matter which control I use, the one in the car, the one in the house, or the one mounted on the wall in the garage. Do you have any advice?
In addition to the electric eye, there is a safety device on the garage door opener. It will automatically reverse the door if it hits something. This sensitivity setting on this auto reverse function requires calibration. Decreased the sensitivity to the point where the garage door will close. Be careful not to decrease the sensitivity to the point where the door won't automatically reverse if it hits something. This procedure is described in the e-mail you recently received.
