Can I split a 200 amp service?

I am increasing from a 100 amp service to 200 amp and splitting it between the house and detached garage from meter. I need to get power to my detached garage/shop. I would like to only use one meter box and only have 100 amp service to the house, so I need 200 amp service, split 100 amps each to the house and the garage off of one meter box.

I'm not sure what your exact question is, but if the 200 amp service goes into a splitter box, it is not a problem to split it into two individual 100 amp circuits, as you have described.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
