How do I add a remote doorbell chime?

What is the wiring procedure to connect a doorbell in the basement to the doorbell on the main floor? Presently, when we are in the basement, we can not hear the upstairs (main) doorbell and as a result what to install a doorbell in the basement.

There are devices on the market that solve this problem perfectly. They consist of a transmitter which attaches to your existing doorbell chime. The second piece of equipment is an electric chime that plugs into any electrical outlet in your house. This chime has a receiver in it. When your regular doorbell chime rings, the transmitter emits a signal which is received by the remote chime, and the remote chime rings. You can plug the remote chime into an electrical outlet in your basement. This system offers flexibility. You can take it out to the garage and plug it in temporarily, if you happened to be working out there, and did not want to miss someone at the front door.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
