The condensate line may be -

  • disconnected from the condensate tray
  • split
  • disconnected at the trap
  • crimped, clogged or
  • mechanically damaged anywhere along its length.
  • A leak will allow condensate to flow where it was not intended. The implications are similar to those we discussed with respect to leakage from the condensate drain pan.

    Inspect the length of the condensate drain line looking for active leakage if the unit is running or has been running recently. If the air conditioner is idle, look for evidence of staining, streaking, loose connections or split piping.
