A simple toy for newborns
Here's free amusement for young babies, who see sharply contrasting colors and respond to faces. On a piece of white paper, draw a simple face in black, with big circles for eyes and a big smile. Tape it a few feet from your baby.

Use greener cleaners
When buying cleaning products, choose ones that don't give off harmful fumes. For example, avoid products that contain chlorine bleach or ammonia.

Wash newborn's clothing in a non-irritating laundry soap before the first wearing to soften them and remove dirt and dye residue.
