You make a million decisions before you get married. But first, you need to set a budget.

Take a close look at your finances with your fiancé and decide how much you can spend on your wedding. Talk to family members who have offered to help pay for the big day and find out exactly what they are willing to contribute. Once you have a number, don't deviate from it.

Remember, it's just one day and while you want everything to be perfect, you must keep things in perspective. Don't go deep into debt. Budget for your honeymoon and don't forget about other potential expenses down the road, like a down payment on a new home.
