Summary

The Digital Experience team at Sears Holdings Online Services is looking for a collaborative, team-oriented Senior Creative Designer with at least three to five years of experience and a passion for style, design, user-centric interaction design, and technology to join our close-knit group of web professionals. Our team is a group of motivated, cross-functional team members who work hard every day to improve the user experiences at Manage My Life, Sears PartsDirect, and other Sears Holdings Online Services sites. We work and play hard,; there is no doubt about that. Responsibilities

  • Design compelling interactions and experiences with the target audiences' needs in mind
  • Provide creative design team leadership
  • Work independently and collaboratively in an Agile environment
  • Conduct concept generation and modeling experiences
  • Design website audits and conduct design evaluation experiences
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions and teams
  • Manage, track, and plan creative projects
  • Mentor co-workers, including design inspiration
  • Optimize design concepts around HTML/CSS technologies
  • Identify design trends, tools, templates and techniques that would evolve the existing approaches of the digital experience and development groups
  • Provide overall direction and design, including navigation, landing experiences, widget interfaces, shopping templates, iconography, imagery, and marketing support
  • Work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in web interface and layout design
  • Strong design background
  • Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Intermediate understanding of HTML/CSS, with direct experience optimizing design concepts around these technologies
  • Flash experience a strong plus
  • Portfolio that displays an understanding of user-centered design (online preferred)
  • Willingness to work closely with information architects, copywriters, developers and others to produce a team-driven end product with a top-notch user experience
  • An appreciation for collaborative excellence
  • Attention to detail, while considering the big picture, too
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Experience with large-scale web sites or e-commerce sites preferred—we're looking for someone who has worked on complex web sites, not necessarily in retail
